Janice Camilleri is owner and on-site program director of Never Say Never Stables. Prior to opening the stables, Janice taught first and second grade at Ontario Primary School in Wayne County. A mother of two, Janice earned her Masters Degree in Elementary Education at Nazareth College and holds a permanent NYS teacher's certification. An animal and horse lover, and rider from the age of 9, Janice has combined her enthusiasm for teaching young children and her love of horses to create a new "classroom", Never Say Never Stables. Additionally, Janice is Chair and Founder of Never Say Never Foundation*,a NYS 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides life-enriching, horse related activities and recreational farm programs to children with special needs. Creating and directing programs for the stables and keeping the non-profit going keep Janice busy, but she loves interacting with the children and staff. *For more information on the Foundation at Never Say Never Stables, please visit www.neversaynever.foundation
Marguerite Booke is NSN's Lead Instructor and Lesson Coordinator. She has an extensive background in facilitating educational petting zoo experiences, teaching youth riding lessons, and guiding trail rides. Her own horse resides at NSN, which she uses to educate children in all manners of handling, groundwork, grooming, and horse health and care. You will see Marguerite in many roles at the farm, from Event Supervisor to Lesson Coordinator and Instructor to Summer Camp Director. She does it all with a love for seeing our young clients grow, learn and enjoy these special animals and farm experiences.
Alyssa Wagner is one of our seasonal full-time instructors that teaches special first time experiences (pony rides, "groom and rides" and Barn Buddies) as well as instructing morning riding lessons in our summer camp program. She also acts as our "PA", or Party Assistant, decorating ponies with colorful ribbons and braids, assisting and leading those special birthday pony rides. Alyssa is a SOTA graduate, and employs her artistic abilities creatively around the stables in many ways. You'll always see her with an animal...and a smile!
All staff at NSN, including volunteers, part time instructors, junior counselors and CIT's are carefully chosen and trained to carry out the philosophy and mission of Never Say Never Stables~ to teach horsemanship from the heart in a nurturing, non-competitive and fun way, respecting each child and horse's unique personality, needs and strengths. It is our priority to create a physically and emotionally safe learning environment for our young students, to foster confidence, independence, empowerment and respect when caring for, handling and riding horses and interacting with other animals, student, and staff. We are all trained in CPR and First Aid. Safety is our priority when working with children and animals.
"Never Say Never"....we believe that ALL children should have the opportunity to learn about, interact with and work with horses regardless of background, experience, challenges or obstacles. We welcome children of all abilities. See us at the stables soon!
